Dr. Daniel Collins is a postdoctoral scientist at the Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment (SAGE) and the Center for Limnology at UW-Madison. His work centers on modeling phosphorus transport within the Yahara watershed to help understand the spatio-temporal drivers of cultural eutrophication. Collins's broader research addresses interactions among hydrology, ecology, and land use. Read about his research in depth.

Collins earned his Ph.D. and S.M. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at MIT, where he modeled interactions among hydrology, ecology, and geomorphology. Prior to MIT, Collins received a B.E. (Hons.) in Natural Resources Engineering at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, and worked as a hazards analyst at the Canterbury Regional Council.
