Dr. Monica Harkey is a post-doctoral researcher working with Prof. Tracey Holloway. Monica's research focuses on estimating the air quality of the future using a suite of climate simulations, atmospheric and chemical models. As a physicist and geographer, she is fascinated by the ways we adjust our activities to the atmosphere and vice versa. She is also interested in the synergy of using model, satellite, and observational data for informing air quality policies.

Monica received a B. Sc. degree in Physics and Geography from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA, followed by a M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her graduate studies had her head in the clouds: with satellite remote sensing of cloud properties and the modeling of cloud-chemistry interactions.
